Hello, I’m French (that’s why I have a bad English XD) and
here is my problem:this morning I saw my young cat chasing a little wild mouse, and I had time to save her just before he killed her. I noticed she had a little sore. Then I put it in a cardboard box that I covered with straw. Then I visit another forum to inform me a little, and I gave him a little piece of carrots and apple and of course I put a bowl of water. At first she was paralyzed and did not move, after she moved and hide. But a few minutes later, she ate the piece of apple I had in front of her. So here I was, wondering if I could keep it? (because I would love) or release it? knowing that it can be killed in 24.00 hours if I put it back in nature. If I keep it, who is dangerous or good for her? for me ? How to welcome it at best?
Thank you in advance to all the people who will be kind enough to answer me <3
@Grumpy-bear
I would recommend having it checked over by a vet, but I don’t see why you can’t keep it, as long as you know how to look after it. Just keep it away from that cheeky kitten of yours:) Also, it might be worth moving this to general chat.
To all, I did not say that^(sorry, just a clarification) Oh, that’s bad
At least you have a kitten though! Mice cannot be played with much.
Lol, it actually looks like I’m saying what you’re saying. I’ve got 4 rabbits and 3 cats, no lie:)
yes, me too, it looks like you’re talking XD
I’m not rabbit, is that good?
I have two cats ; a dog ; a horse (old); three chicken
Can you move this to general chat, just click the black dog on the first comment, and it’s in the grey drop down bar?
Rabbits are very hard to look after, don’t worry:)

Poor you @ Grumpy bear
having to see that, it must have been very upsetting for you. Sadly any animal that has been bitten by a cat will rarely survive. Cats have horrid bacteria on their teeth and even if the mouse survives the bite, it will probably not survive the bacteria germs and the shock and the kindest thing you can do for the mouse is to let your cat ‘finish off’ the kill. I don’t want to seem harsh, but I have had cats for many years and the current Kitty is a killer. It is heart breaking but I’ve been in so many situations where Kitty has come in with his latest catch and we have to let him kill it as it is the kindest thing to do for the mouse or bird no matter how horrid it may sound. On a funny note, Kitty was bitten by a fox over a month ago - you may say Karma and so do I! Foxes have even more nasty bacteria on their teeth and Kitty is lucky not to have lost a leg and after being operated to repair his leg he’s been kept inside for over 4 weeks and on two different types of anti biotic.
Talk to your parents about making sure your kitten has worming treatment if he is going to be hunting, don’t forget hunting is normal for cats, it is what they do!

you’re right, it’s the cycle of life. But thank you I did not know all that;)
