Hello friends What’s the wikihow algorithm? How wikihow article come to the top or get featured?

Articles are featured at admin discretion. You can, however, nominate an article to be a featured article by following the steps at Nominate an Article for Featured Article Status .

Hmm, I’m not quite sure if I agree with your wording. It’s up to the whole community, really! The readers provide data which help form our ideals of what a ‘helpful’ article is on wikiHow. We’ve found some awesome things that make an article super special on wikiHow, @suradreamz . The goal is to spread useful information in a way that is both helpful and aesthetically pleasing.:slight_smile:There’s a lot of things that contribute to making an article the best it can be. Comprehensive information, photos, a good title, etc are all great starts. So, for this reason, we have some articles that can help you out. I’ll link them below. http://m.wikihow.com/Write-a-Featured-Article-on-wikiHowhttp://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Writer’s-Guide (I actually think this one will help you most!) http://m.wikihow.com/Get-Started-Editing-and-Writing-on-wikiHow The biggest thing to remember is that not all articles will be featured. In fact, most won’t. And although being featured is glamorous, it’s not the main reason we’re in it. I’ll add that an FA does not always equal page views. My second most viewed article hasn’t even been featured, yet it still has lots of views.:slight_smile:We’re all here editing to help, not for the awards. Although I’ll admit theyre a lot of fun to work for and look forward to!:slight_smile:Have fun and good luck!

Some articles that don’t really deserve the status get featured, and some that do don’t, so don’t feel like your articles are bad if yours don’t! It also really depends on who reviews your article. They have a tool called the NAB where promoted users called Boosters review new articles, and if the user that happens to review your article doesn’t feel that it deserves the status, then they won’t grant it. If someone else had reviewed it, they may have had a different opinion and granted it the featured status. Ultimately, it goes down to the article’s helpfulness.
