I want to create a small template and I don’t know how to start the page. Can some one help me please?

  1. Make sure you can create an article from Advanced Editor directly!

  2. Title it “Template:addtemplatenamehere”.

  3. Start to create it.

I tried it and it came up like an article with the steps and tips and stuff, did I do it wrong?

I think I know what happened.

Go to your Preferences, then change how you create articles. The images are in my original message.

I made sure my preferences were correct but it didn’t change.

FYI - a shortcut to making a template is to bypass the article creator tool entirely and just type in your address bar: https://www.wikihow.com/Template:Example (replace “Example” with your desired template name) and click on the edit link to open up the editor: https://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Template:Example&action=edit
