There is already an article
on this.
Okay but I’m having trouble actually making a page…
I don’t know how to make a page. Do you make it from the article page? If so, I tried it didn’t work.
Hello, to make a project page, put this in your URL bar: “ www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:PROJECT
NAME Project”. Where the words “PROJECT NAME” are replaced with the name of your project. Then, click on the link that say’s “Write the PROJECT NAME Project page”.
Thanks. I will make it after my wikibreak =)

I would caution AGAINST any editor (old or new) starting “new” projects for a couple of reasons. (and I apologize in advance for a surfeit of curmudgeonly cynicism here… )
1 - Projects tend toward quickly becoming a control issue… as in… “Hey! I have an idea and everyone needs to do things MY way!” control issue.
wikiHow is an all volunteer organization… so telling others on the site what to do and how to do it in a new “project” is sort of like herding cats… lots of work for very little result other than getting scratched and/or bitten.
2 - A new “project” is the classic wikiHow newbie move that practically screams “I don’t want to put in the time and effort it would take to get noticed on my merits alone, so let me just tell you how it needs to be done”. Frankly? this type of action instantly brands you as someone with more enthusiasm than wisdom. (aka “newbie”)
3 - wikiHow has a very large list of of inactive projects. It’s very rare that a project can garner enough editor support to remain active longer than a few months due to A: No one joining B: People “joining” so they feel like a part of a group, but then not editing and C: Members of the project group arguing over HOW to do the project and complaining to each other that the “others” in the group aren’t doing what the “leader” wants them to do. (see note above about herding cats)
4 - wikiHow has been around 13+ years. Most every “project” that CAN be invented HAS been invented… and subsequently abandoned… and readopted… and abandoned… multiple times. It is highly unlikely that any “new” project is actually something new.
Frankly… You are better off just doing the “project” work yourself, or looking for someone else doing something worthwhile and quietly joining them in their efforts to make the site… and the world… a better place.
Please reference initial apology again here…
^okay I won’t make one. If I can, I will restart another.
What type of project are you looking for? There may be an existing one you could join.
This thread is making me think that maybe the Autism Project should make a comeback during April.
@MissLunaRose
I joined the birthday committee one. Also, I could bring back the autism project. Did you make it?
I am the project founder. One year we had a forum thread and created a ton of new articles in April for Autism Acceptance Month. Part of the issue is that I’m not 100% sure what projects do.
A revival would be cool, in any case!
The scope of projects varies depending on the main goal of the project, but if we look at the history and project goals of the Autism Project, most of the past activities have involved language cleanup (like switching articles to identity-first language), creation of new pages, and expansion of existing ones. Of course, you’re always free to add new activities if they benefit the project
Maybe I can make an asthma project or reopen one after wikibreak
