Hey guys, I edited this article called How to Make Snacks (by Kids) until I thought it was full potential. I asked Anna if it could be promoted, and she said the snacks I put in there should be divided into separate articles, or something like that. I think that article should have a title change and some extra edits. Post your comment here please! I want this over with and promoted. . . Thanks!

Would you mind linking the article?

@Confusionist http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Snacks-(by-Kids) @Blackcats=Awesome To be very honest, it’s not worth the time to make new articles out of that. There’s already a highly popular article about making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and everything else are straight-up incomplete, such as “grab carrots from the fridge and eat them”. Your best bet? Remove the section headers and make each section into one step.

I couldn’t find the article. otherwise, snacks article can get interesting feedback:slight_smile:

I’m confused by the meaning of “by kids” in the title. Was the article originally written by kids or is it about snacks kids can make? I’m clear on your target audience since “kids” refers to anyone from 3 to 12 and what you are allowed to cook usually varies by age. When I was 3-7 the snacks I “made” were mostly saltine cracker sandwiches, bread and butter and sliced fruit with peanut butter. I didn’t need how-tos for those, although I think I learned some “recipes” from Mr. Rogers (this was the 80s – most people did not have the Internet back then). When I was eight I first used the stove and I began baking on my own (no adult supervision) when I was ten or eleven. The snacks that are mentioned in the article require very little prep. Even the carrots step fails to mention the basics about peeling and cutting carrots (yes, there are households that don’t buy bagged baby carrots). Older kids are capable of doing prep work. A better angle may be a how-to on teaching your kids to make their own snacks. Otherwise, I’d recommend taking out a children’s cookbook from the library to see if there are snack recipes that can be added. In addition to some vintage Betty Crocker kids cookbooks I found at flea markets, I also used this book: http://www.amazon.com/Better-Homes-Gardens-Step--Cookbook/dp/0696013258/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1433877668&sr=8-2&keywords=better+homes+and+gardens+step+by+step+kids+cookbook I remember the Betty Crocker cookbook had some recipes for things like celery fans and carrot curls. Those are a little more advanced then just grabbing a bagel and spreading cream cheese.

I added all the recipes except the peanut-butter jelly sandwich. The original article sounded like this:(excerpts)“Get out some bread. . .get out some jelly, peanut butter, and jam. . .theres you’re sand wich!” Lots of get-out’s and bad grammar. I can’t resist fixing errors like that, so I went for it. Note to @Elocina-As for the (by Kids) part, user Neorock365 made this article. I don’t know why the kids part. (actually I have a suspicion, but you are not supposed to here on wikiHow) You can see here: http://www.wikihow.com/User:Neorock365 Note to @Maluniu-yeah , you’re probably right. Now that I think of it, this thing should be deleted or split. The thing was that I saw how sad the article was, then I went for it. I tend to do that for tiny articles. Basic idea: I thought the article should have a title change and edits.
