Collab Corner or Village Pump? Anyways, recently I’ve noticed anons writing new articles because they had a question/problem and asked for help. For example, this article
titled “Get Help to Repair a 20R Toyota Engine,Need Hepl No Oil Pressure,Need Someone With Knowlegy to Get It Runing,Has Rebuilt Crank,Bearings,Rings ,Got Things to Trade”. The content, other than a NFD tag, describes a guy’s situation with his car and requests for help. I was thinking about a coaching template that explains that they’re article is being NFD for not being a how-to. Additionally, it would tell them that if they have an issue and want help from an article, that they can request for it to be written. Here’s a sample of what it could look like: “Hey there. Thanks for writing a new article on wikiHow! I just wanted let you know that I nominated your article, [article name], for deletion because it looked like a request for help, rather than an instructional how-to. We appreciate you coming to wikiHow for advice! If you have a question or issue and you’d like an article for help, you can request
for it to be written. Remember to phrase it in a “how to” form! You’ll be notified by email when someone does write it. Let me know if you have any questions!” So basically, it would be a combo of nfd|not and an explanation of how to request a topic. If people favour this idea, I’d be happy to create the template for community approval.

Cool!
I like it! Approved.
Nice idea. I like it. Just no exclamation point at the end of “How-to form” and put “Let me know if you have any questions!” with the paragraph before it. Other than that, looks really cool! June Days

^ Yep, other than that one minor change, it sounds good to me. I approve.
I approve this template. I also agree with the removal of the exclamation points.

I know this is freaky, but you either say “you can request it to be written”, “you can request that it is written”, or “you can request someone to write it” - reference
. Since the last one gives the wrong impression that you should go ask someone
specific to write the article, we can safely exclude it. Feel free to choose any of the former two
I am with removing all exclamation marks. Other than that, sound like a good idea, I support it
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Seem like we’re on board with this. I’ll make the template with your suggestions and post it in Village Pump for official community approval.
