So, you guys may recall, I made a part 1 of this thread a couple months ago. I’ll link it here so you can see the rules.

So basically, you just take a wikiHow-related phrase (ex: New Article Boost) and enter it in Google Translate. Translate it to a random language. and then translate it back. And rinse and repeat until you get something hilarious. I find that the best results come when you translate with Latin. It gets incredibly funny and leaves you wondering if Google Translate really is the best place to do your French homework.

^Is it fine if I use Yandex Translate? It’s a similar translation service.

(I guess I over-did the translation…)

Rant about one of the mistakes that Google Translate made

I remember, some time ago, Google Translate kept translating 《부강하는》as “shipbuilding” instead of “prosperous”. At least that was a clear indicator that a translation was done by Google translate, because to a human it should be obvious, that, for example, 《부강하는 내 나라》is “my prosperous country”, not “my shipbuilding country”… (Don’t remember the exact wording, but I actually once came across a “translation” that mis-translated like that.)

English: Random Article

Went through Russian to Bosnian, to Punjab, to Latin and back to English, but it was too much for GT.

End result: slucajno Članci
sluchaynaya stat’yaBtratībē lēkha
sluchaynaya stat’ya

Plain Google says:It looks like there aren’t any great matches for your search

What do you mean “it was too much for GT”?Also, “случайная статья” literally means “random article” in Russian. If searching that in Google gave no matches, that’s simply because you used the transliteration instead.

@Murmansk_Hills I followed those instructions. ^ I would take the translation from Google Translate (GT for short), and put it through again to another language… and translate back to English at every step, but never getting to “something hilarious”.

I didn’t specify anything for plain Google search.

Using Bing because that is my default incognito browser. I can’t tell you how many times keeping Google as my incognito browser backfired because I signed in somewhere in incognito mode.
