When adding an image through the image adding function which comes up when I edit an article, I can get images from Wikimedia Commons, but I cannot get anything from Flickr. No choices show no matter what keywords I use. Is Flickr nonfunctional on wikiHow?

Ya, I believe Flickr changed their API a while ago, making the search here nonfunctional. I’m not certain if it’s doable or not, but hopefully one of our engineers will be able to make changes to update the search at some point! In the meantime the Wikimedia one should work, and you can still upload any Flickr images manually if you find ones with an appropriate license. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks, @Anna
. I hope they can fix it, because the Wikimedia entries are nowhere near as comprehensive as the Flickr options. At the very least, if it is determined that the Flickr cannot be fixed, it might be nice to remove Flickr from the image picker, as users might find it frustrating to have a tool offered, which never works.

Yeah I agree! I’d like to have it back. I know it’s not the *big* way that people add images anymore (more uploads and Wikivisual requests, these days), but it still comes in handy. I just don’t know if a fix is possible with the Flickr-side change, but that’s my ignorance at play, rather than an actual statement from the engs
Anyway, I do have a bug filed, so hopefully it can be addressed in the not too distant future! Images are generally Reuben’s area, and he’s out on vacation right now and has some other issues to deal with upon return, but it’s on his to-do list. Your idea of removing it if it can’t be fixed is good, too. Would def clear up any confusion! I’m going to move this to the bugs section so that I can update you here in the future.
