Hi everyone,

Hope you’ve been having a wonderful 2016 so far! It’s been a while since I gave everyone a media update, so I thought it’d be a good time for a post.

Happy to report on a neat way wikiHow is making a meaningful difference in the world: As you may know, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Zika Virus as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. In Latin America, the Zika Virus was connected to thousands of birth defects. Our article in Spanish that was posted on our Spanish Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/288956732021/posts/10153975268912022 ) has received over 35,000 shares, 97,000 likes, 1,700 comments, and 94% of readers rating helpfulness said it helped them.

In more recent news, we’ve been nominated for a Webby! One of the awards we’re in the running for are the People’s Choice Awards, which means if you want to, you can have a say! You can vote for us here: https://pv.webbyawards.com/2016/websites/general-website/social-media

You all rock!

Maria

Thought these updates were scrapped and discontinued indefinitely. At least I know you’re still here! Awesome content!

@McDonalds1 Thank you!!! That means a lot to me, truly.:slight_smile:Apologies for being MIA. Is there anything you’d like to see more of?

No problem! That’s fine. All I need to know is that these updates will continue after all!

Great to have so many wiki updates,

Wow! That is an absolute bombardment of happenings in the universe of social media. Patticularly meaningful is the validation of the effort of @MissLunaRose and others in improving global understanding and acceptance of austism.

You’re too kind, @Alabaster . The Autism Project team has worked really hard to get this stuff down.

More good news: Tumblr’s Autistic community is a fan of wikiHow. Our article “ How to Cope with Autism Awareness Month ,” which was started thanks to a tumblr post, has over 1,000 notes and counting .

Congratulations to the team.

@McDonalds1 Will do my best to update!

@SarahB Glad this is helpful!

@Alabaster There was actually a lot more than this!!:slight_smile:Definitely agree on your point about @MissLunaRose ’s effort – and excited to see it!

@MissLunaRose As you know, I’m a HUGE fan! The Autism Project team really is doing incredible, meaningful work and I look forward to seeing the long-term impacts.

@Vishwavijay Yes, absolutely – go wikiHow!!!

Happy Friday all!

Awesome!

Congrats
