I have been wondering about creating a section where suggested topics for articles could be proposed and started as a stub. Also creating a link or redirection from an unsuccessful search. This way if someone has an idea of a good article to write but knows that it will need much more information than they could provide: they could provide a short introduction or outline of how they wish it should be done. I will find at least 5 examples of some suggested topics that with a brief explanation could be more relevant for anyone and draw their interest to respond.

I’m not knowledgeable enough to have an opinion, but I’ll state it anyway. I think that this is a great idea but there’s a “request a new article” option which is similar to your suggestion. I like your idea though. You might want to wait for others to comment here. :) Also, could you (or any administrator reading this) move this thread to the “New Category Suggestions” section? Village Pump isn’t really the right place for this.

This isn’t going about a new category per se, so I’ll leave it as it is.

As @Worldsgreatestnerd just mentioned, we already have the “Request a new Article” option, and which you can see here:  http://www.wikihow.com/Special:ListRequestedTopics

I think that pretty much covers the main idea which you were presenting?

Thank you for your advise worldsgreatestnerd, and Daniel thanks for pointing out the http://www.wikihow.com/Special:ListRequestedTopics , I did read about that section. It may already be covered and my request might sound redundant. However, I’m simply suggesting an idea to implement some features or it can be a subcategory within. I’m simply a newbie here and still got much to learn.

@Danielbauwens Isn’t this Collab Corner material, since it is a suggestion that we can all collaborate on?

So should this thread be moved?
