The edit I’m working on currently has three distinct methods, but also includes a preparation and extras section that apply to all three.
Do I still use the __Methods__ format?

I’d probably tag it as methods? Seems like a personal preference call. If there are three distinct methods, might be worth doing methods or at least mentioning that they’re separate methods if you choose parts instead.
Well in that case, since the headers already have the word “methods” in them, I might as well go with __PARTS__.

Have you come across articles that had I think four ==== to add sub sections? I mean, there were methods, and then those methods had a division for more detailing. I might be wrong. However, I think some receipe articles that had two or more preparations clubbed in one article used this style.
