I’m posting a second request for this… When an admin hits the delete button, it would be just amazingly wonderful and downright fantastic if the “Reason for deletion” field were already filled in with the NFD reason given. It would save a humongous amount of mouse clicks! Thanks you for your thoughtful, careful, and timely consideration of the humble request!

Second that. It really is pissing off.

7th, and I swear I was just thinking the same thing before i opened this.

Just to clarify…you mean that when you click “delete” the NFD reason is already chosen from the dropdown menu, so that you don’t have to click twice (once to see the menu, another time to select the reason)? If someone can confirm that this is what you mean, I can look into it. I’m not sure if it’s possible/feasible though for the system to scrape the article for the NFD reason and pre-select, but I’ll look into it.

That’s what I’m talking about! It would save 2 mouse clicks for every delete. That’s a lot when your working something like NFD|ADV

Alright, thanks to Bebeth, this request has been fulfilled, as of now:slight_smile:Note that if there is more than one NFD reason, the first one listed will be automatically chosen from the dropdown menu, so you might have to occasionally change that if you’re deleting for a different reason. Anyway, I hope your pointer fingers enjoy this change!

Ahh! Thanks!

If you are new and editing and you forget to fill in the box and the NFD is already filled in it will cause a lot of confusion. Is there any way to prevent this?

Are you asking if you forget to put the 3 letter NFD code will there be a problem? the answer to that is “no”. But we do like you to remember… lol

no…no…What i meant Is if A new user happens to edit a article for spelling or grammer and forget to put spelling and grammer and the NFD is already selected then it may cause confusion.

Ah. This in a tool only available to admins. Others won’t see it.

Nice job; only one complaint: doesn’t work on speedy articles. Also what is the purpose of the content of the article in the “other reason” box? We’re deleting the article, the content should go to.

Max - I suppose it’s in case we have an unwelcome article that doesn’t easily categorize. or for speedies… which have multiple reasons for deletion? Kinda like a kitchen “catch all” drawer…?

Ah, makes sense. Thanks.

I now feel amazingly wonderful and downright fantastic!

About time…:stuck_out_tongue:(laughing)
