Although I recently asked for a clarification of one Discussion page template, there were other more troubling templates I wasn’t planning to ask until I tackled those. (There is a reason behind my monotony, but you’ll have to wait for the end of my task to know what’s going on, given the answers to these clarifications.
- Template:Evc
is just one template I’m having trouble clarifying within the confines of the subpages of wikiHow:Templates/Discussion. This one was included within pages under the VideoComments namespace for YouTube-embedded videos on wikiHow articles. Not sure why they are still around, and just looking at the formatting on the Evc template page makes me quiver - because they aren’t exactly mobile-responsive. May need to be redone in their entirety.
- Template:DiscussionEntry
is another I’m having some trouble understanding and would like more clarification on. It seems like it’s the basis for Discussion pages - but it became obsolete years ago when Discussion page entries moved to single messages within the page - not sprawled out over * and ** and *** level posts on the page…yet all it’s used also have old styling on the component talk pages. We have Template:Comment_footer and Template:Comment_header now, so this isn’t really something that many will need to worry about, but just in case a reader comes across a page with these, I’d like to mention their uses to make it less frightening and more informational within the subpages of wikiHow:Templates/Discussion
When I got to this point for writing this forum’s post, I had three templates but was also working with the one which I saw how I could rectify by merging and cleaning up its uses to present-day templates.
The clarification for why all the monotony will be upcoming in another post altogether, as I wrap up this personal project.
