I have a feral cat come to my house every day and I really want to keep her. I need to get her into the vet because she has tapeworms and to get her neutered. I want to keep her in my house, but our other 3 y/o male will spray. Do you have any suggestions on what to do, or just anything relating her? Or could she live in my shed?
Also, maybe suggestions for new toys or anything that you think I should do to improve her life?
i hope that your 3 year old male cat has been neutered - he’ll be less likely to spray if he was, even with a new cat bought into the household. If you want to support the feral cat by feeding her, you really should get her spayed. Your nearest vet might have traps you can borrow or know of an organisation you can borrow a trap from. Setting her up a warm, safe place to sleep in your shed sounds good. Make a bed for her in there with an old towel or blanket with the smell of your home, or even your cat on it so the feral cat starts getting used to the smell of your home and feeling comforted there. If you make her a den that’s too cosy though, you might find her there with kittens in a while if you don’t get her spayed. Toys won’t help in the early days, try

He has been neutered, and we have Feliway too. He had an old habit of spraying, and a vet said he could go back to it if we were to bring another cat in. I’ll have to test it though!
