Hello! I was wondering, is there a template that can be applied to articles with stereotypical or offensive content? There have been a few articles lately that have some stereotypical or offensive content lately. Instead of deleting these articles, maybe can we apply a template and let the author edit the article so that it’s less offensive? Thanks!

Usually, I’ve seen overly offensive articles get deleted, but this could be an option for a slightly less offensive articles.

Thanks Jaeden. Do you know anyone who makes good templates? I can only make UIBs.

I’d just copy and paste the wikiMarkup/html from another article template, and replace the actual heading/text with the words for your new template.
But for a template like this, maybe it’s best to get community consensus first.

How do I make a consensus???
Yeah, you need community consensus before creating article or coaching templates. That’s basically done by opening up a discussion like you’ve done here and asking if other people believe the template would be beneficial. I personally don’t really see a need for it, because I don’t really see this come up (outside of NFD’d content and articles on topics intended
to be stereotypical, like on how to be emo or such), but if this is a persistent problem I could be convinced otherwise.

Hello wikiHowians! I was told that I needed community consensus for an article template idea that I had, so this is the thread where you can post your opinions on the template idea. A Google Form will be attached for the actual consensus.
Lately, I’ve noticed that there have been several articles with stereotypical or offensive content, so I had an idea for a template that will notify users to remove the stereotypical or offensive content. Please fill out my Google Form
to give your consensus!

Just so that you know, community consensus can only be determined via forum comments on this thread. It cannot be done with a Google form because there is no way to verify the results.

Can you elaborate on what you’d actually like to see happen and provide examples of articles with offensive content where the template would be applied?

I don’t think that a template like this is necessary. If an article is offensive, then I think that {{nfd|hat}} is appropriate. If the editor did not mean to write an offensive article, then they have a week to fix it, and they can apply an {{inuse}} template if they need more time. I don’t think that we should be keeping hateful articles around for any extended amount of time.

I think that R2’s point is a good reminder - if an nfd template is applied, the author does have 7 days to work on it before it goes into the nfd guardian. I think this is plenty of time to encourage a good faith author, so I don’t think a new template is necessary
