I read a news story the other day about a new mental health crisis line in England via NHS 111 ( NHS England » NHS 111 offering crisis mental health support for the first time
).
I had a look around relevant wH articles to see whether this might merit adding in somewhere, and noticed that most articles direct the reader towards emergency services, or crisis help lines that are specifically suicide hotlines, rather than general mental health support lines.
I’d appreciate if someone could weigh in on whether there’s scope to add this information to existing articles. Thanks in advance!

I think it could be useful in some articles, such as Sarah’s Create a Safe Space for When You’re Feeling Low
.
Though, I wouldn’t put the number on articles specifically relating to suicide/self-harm.

That’s definitely what I’m thinking, I wouldn’t want to place a general mental health line number on articles where a suicide hotline or emergency services number is what readers need to find and be directed towards. Thanks for weighing in!

Pinging @JayneG
for input because this sounds familiar to the “updating the 988 hotline in USA
and Canada
” edit-a-thons we did!

I definitely agree that it would be worthwhile adding this new number to articles. Because it’s a different purpose and number than the UK suicide line, as you’ve discussed, we wouldn’t replace the existing number in those articles, but I think it would be good to create a list of articles where it might be a good addition.
I have a very simple sheet here that anyone can add URLs to and then we can review and decide where/how/what to add: Articles to Add NHS 111 Crisis Mental Health Support Line in - Google Sheets
Let’s review the list in a week or so and go from there!
