I thought that we might want a template for telling new users that the discussion page of an article is for talk about the article, not the subject. You can find the page http://www.wikihow.com/Articlenotsubject
. I just thought this might interest you guys, so please give feedback. Also I think I formatted the page wrong, could somebody please change to template page
Right. Is the link deleted I mean the article? I dont see anything in it. I am sorry.
@GotzeFan
to me the new template is appreciable. I recommend you to read this: http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-wikiHow-Template

I went ahead and moved the template to the Template namespace for you, and placed an inuse for you: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Template:Articlenotsubject
But to be honest I’m not totally sure about the reason for the template? As far as I know, there’s nothing wrong with people talking about the subject on the Discussion page, too. I’ve seen some helpful discussions about the topics get started this way, and the end result is often that the page can be improved by the collaboration that ensues - with real feedback from readers, folks who’ve tested the methods or have other suggestions, etc. I’m not sure there needs to be a distinction between comments on the article and comments on the topic?
Oh, if its not a problem to write about the subject and article in the discussion , then I second anna.
Well, I meant like, don’t use it if it’s helpful to the article, ex. it criticizes the accuracy and talks about the subject as a suggestion for editing, but if it’s useless, ex. on “How to cook x”, a comment like “oh i love x so much, i eat it like 10 times a day”, don’t post it.
Hmmm Right. Thats what you meant. You know I do it all the time. But I do it right at the end where they ask, Did you like the article, I say yes. And then in the box, I write my comment. This is the correct way to put feedback right?
