I have noticed alot of people have brightly-colored user pages (I have done it to, so don’t call me out) that are both hard to read and give no help to our mission (again, I know what I have done, so don’t call me out). I was thinking we could make a template that says that they need to change the color of their page. Here is my idea for the template ------ Start of Template ---- Hello [Insert Username Here]! I saw that you have a brightly colored user page and talk page. Here at wikiHow, our mission doesn’t really have to do with colorful user and talk pages, plus it just looks silly and childish. Could you please change the color of your user and talk page with colors like black and white, or pastel colors. If you don’t know how to add color to your user page, then contact a Page Designer [Insert Link To Page Designing Page Here]. Thank you, and have a nice day! ---- End of Template ---- I know it needs some improving, so if anyone wants to help, please put in your two cents. Maybe this won’t even be made at all! So, what do you think?

I suggest replacing “plus it just looks silly and childish” with “plus bright colors will hurt editors eyes when they leave you a message”.

Also, I think that this should only be put on pages if it really can hurt others eyes, because well, if they want bright colors, I think they should get them.
After all, lots of bright colors are the options for designing here on wikiHow. However, I think that we should keep this template with the revision above! I really like the idea.

I’m moving this to the Village Pump, since it needs community approval before being created because it’s a coaching template. Personally, I’m worried some people would get this template repeatedly, and really they’re not breaking any kind of rule or policy. As to whether we should have a policy against brightly-colored user/talk pages, that’s a whole other can of worms that never ends in consensus
Well, I see some Users have Yellow text and it hurts my eyes. What if Users get this Template and doesn’t do anything to their User, Talk, or Kudos Page?
