This is a bug I reported on the discussion about the new forum features, but no one answered it. I’ve had 92 notifications when the new forums came out, but every time someone mentions my name or posts on my discussions, I don’t get a notification, so I have to check the discussion manually every few hours. It just stays at 92.
I don’t think that this is a bug, but however, it could be related to how you have your preferences set. Click here
and go to your notification preferences, and see if one of the preferences could be the culprit.

Thanks Hailey - Can you got to http://forums.wikihow.com/profile/edit
and “Notification Preferences” and take a screenshot of what it’s set to? That’d be helpful!
My preferences were already checked, so it’s probably not that, but 2 notifications just got added, so now I have 94. I think the problem is fixed now.
@Anna
I just found out that I don’t get notifications for only one of my discussions. It’s in the Forum Games called “Warrior Cats”. Whenever someone posts on it, I don’t get a notification.
@CastleClashWriter
Since you are saying about “Warrior Cats”, your old account, which you logged out of, is the one that is getting the notifications when someone posts on it, since itis the one that started the discussion. Bookmarking the discussion on your current account might help.
I didn’t abandon my other account. I’m coming back to it in a year or so.
I already did bookmark it.
*I edited the abandoned part out of my comment.* Hmm. I guess that the new forums work differently with bookmarked discussions. @Anna

Hmm weird. I bookmarked a couple of random threads earlier to try this out, and the replies are now on my notification list. Maybe you can try unbookmarking and rebookmarking, Hailey? If it’s just one thread or just older ones from before the update, it might be a glitch we have to live with
- if you see more instances or other people experience the same thing, please do let us know though. The more we know about where or when it happens (and doesn’t!), the better.

If you are using the same email address for both accounts, it might be related to that. I posted a note about a similar issue where I created another account to test and the forum really didn’t discern between the two accounts since they were connected to the same email address. This concern wasn’t addressed, so I have no clue if anyone noticed it or looked into it, but my original comment is here: http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/comment/495460/#Comment_495460
If the email addresses are the same, you might want to try using a different email for the second account and see if that has any effect.
I think it’s starting to work again when I un-bookmarked and bookmarked again, and cleared out some stuff, but I’ll have to check again to make sure.
