Picture Patrol is broken for me.  On mobile and desktop.  All I see is a loading indicator.

Seconding this. I got one picture to work (on Tame a Roborowhatevertheheckit’scalled Hamster), but after that, it got stuck on infinite loading. Does this have to do with database issues, too?

Picture Patrol works fine for me

I just “Skip” pictures that don’t choose to open or are stuck on infinite load. Eventually, they’ll open for someone. I’m only able to open some without the infinite load. When there were only 4 left(at one point yesterday), I was able to grab 2 yet the other two I had to skip due to infinite load.

UPDATE: I just tried to open Picture Patrol when it said there were 29 in it and here’s what I just received. I waited about 5 minutes before I took this screenshot. It never fully loaded. http://screencast.com/t/Q1Fv22DpK

Not sure if this is related or not but I have been unable to upload an image and it is showing up on the Special Pages   wikihow.com/Special  along with all the recent uploads but you cannot see the image as it is just a small black box with a cross in the middle of it.

Same problem. I thought it was just my computer.

It seems that a lot of things on the Community Dashboard aren’t updating, and new things coming in (e.g. photos) are getting corrupted…

Yeah there seems to be a lot of system issues. It says the last time I went on was 16 hours ago when I just edited right now. ._.

Just a quick note to say thanks for these reports! I’ve noted the Picture Patrol, image thumbnail, and Dash bugs- I’ve got bug reports filed for 2 of them already, and I will file the Picture Patrol one if it doesn’t end up being related to the image uploading issue. The engineers are working on some known issues behind the scenes, something to do with the database servers. That’s going to be ongoing for a few days, so in the meantime sorry for the issues you might see here and there, like Dash number discrepancies. Bear with us and they will sort it all out:slight_smile:On the bright side, the new image are showing up for me now so it’s possible that the engineering elves are hard at work as we speak… or that we are blessed with bugs that fix themselves, hah. I’ll update you guys on the other issues once the engineers get things sorted. Thanks for the reports!

^ Thanks, @Anna =)

Thanks @Anna

Not sure if this is related or not but for me it simply won’t open.

^ Yes, Chris mentioned that. Anna said there are some database issues going on and that the engineers are working on them.

Update: On my side picture patrol is working and is showing.

EDIT: Wait never mind - it’s acting wonky again.

I have a glitch that makes the picture patrol number go up and up endlessly, like 4000+

Thanks for the updates - I’m glad the image thumbnail issue seems resolved, but I see Picture Patrol going in and out of functionality as well, so I’ve filed a bug for that. The rest of the database server issues are going to be funky for a few days while our engineers get things working right again, so you might see things like Dash numbers going awry or cached pages not updating right - hang in there and bear with us! They’re working hard on figuring out what’s up and hopefully they’ll get to the bottom of it soon. Thanks for your patience:slight_smile:

Since this bug report is Picture Patrol focused but getting a little off track, I’m going to close this for now and I’ll update it when I have more news. If anyone wants to check in on it in the meantime, do feel free to send me a message - I just don’t want this thread to get too confusing with different issues all on the same thread.

@Tokayyoshi - I’m only seeing a regular number of lines for you in the log, but it could be something going awry just on your interface for the tool. Since it seems like a different issue and perhaps a one-off, would you mind emailing me at anna@wikihow.com and we can go through some more detailed troubleshooting together? Thanks!

Update: Picture Patrol itself should be working again, now that Scott has cleaned out some bad data from the queue. He’ll be doing a bit more poking and fixing to hopefully try to prevent similar issues in the future, but for now things should be okay!
