This thread is a continuation of the Election 2020 thread , but with a more general name. If you have something to say about politics, then it’s better to post it here in this thread rather than on wikiTwitter. While this thread will probably be mostly about US Politics, feel free to post about political events in other countries as well.

Also, please remember to be mindful of other’s opinions.

Great. @anon74718567 can you enable slow mode on this thread? (one post every 5 minutes so moderators can effectively moderate this thread?)

I see no reason for it to be that long 2 minutes at most.

The concern with moderating a political thread is not rapid-fire posting - it’s keeping the discussions civil, combatting misinformation, and distinguishing what accounts contributing are legitimate or not. When on a real-time platform like Discourse, it can blow up within minutes, and I’m not keen on the idea of waking up to 10+ flags, people being uncivil and spreading misinformation, and having to tell everyone to cool it and fact-check everything. As much as I love how much this community has matured, I will be upfront and say that I’ve been attacked on wikiHow in the past (including by some now-inactive admins) because I’m LGBT+, disabled, not a Trump supporter, not religious, etc. I have some serious hesitancy about opening up a thread where these could well be forefronts of the discussion, because I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re going to get attacked for something completely out of their control.

And Aasim, as I recall, when you created a politics thread, I laid out the same concerns to you. Please don’t use other users as a way to get around what admins have told you.
