That’s because Userpages have been updated to the new responsive redesign, but the previews are using the old unresponsive design, so they are using a different rendering system. The only way that you can really design it accurately would be to publish the page and then see what it looks like instead of hitting preview, unfortunately.
Also, I think I see why the redesign is not rendering correctly. I can try to change the code to fix it so that it looks like the preview if you want.
