When RC patrol says “X intermediate revisions not shown” is that just reverted edits, or will some other edits be in there too?

I see that mostly on talk pages, I think it means there are more comments but it shows the latest ones:wink:

It shows that there are multiple edits, but doesn’t show the content of each edit, so you see the earlier revision, and the current revision only. It is possible to throw out more than one good edit with a current vandalism if you don’t check the edit history when patrolling the viewed edits. This doesn’t happen with the regular (classic) recent changes patrol, which actually offers a much better view of edits broken down individually, but because it requires each edit page to load in sequence it is slower, and you don’t have a quick-edit option on the edits you are viewing. One thing that might be confusing is when the Tips/warning bot is rearranging the tips and warnings (I know, redundant), it can appear as if you are reviewing an edit by the bot, but the bot auto patrols, so there will be an “and others” comment on the view, so it can be necessary to either revert the bot’s effort with a vandalism, or to reedit the bot’s edit into a page after a vandalism is removed manually. Not very fun in either instance, and I have seen good patrollers mark minor vandalism patrolled because the edit view is combined with the bot.

Thanks.
