So while patrolling I wanted to write a quick note to the author of an Article. However, when I clicked the “quick note” button, it just opened another RC Patrol page without letting me send a message. I also tried using the Key commands “Ctrl+Alt+q” to get it open and that also did not work. For the mean time I guess I’ll just have to go send it through their talk pages. Any one else getting this? Daniel

The quick edit button seems to be working perfectly for me. Try clearing your browser cache. If the problem doesn’t go away, post in the Redesign bug thread or use the Bug report form. Make sure to include a link to your browser stats which you can get at http://aboutmybrowser.com . Regards, Abhishek

We had another contributor say he was having trouble, too, so if others are persistently getting the same issue (despite force refresh and clearing cache and so on), then yeah - filing it would be great! We just haven’t been able to reproduce it or see the bug in action, so the engineers don’t know what to fix! @Danielbauwens , would you mind - if you get a chance - exploring whether it’s a specific browser that’s part of the problem (and seeing if any extensions or add-ons, like Adblocker etc, might be interfering?)? The more info we can get about who it’s happening to and in what situation, the better chance we have of getting it fixed. If it’s happening to anyone else, please do chime in, too!

@Mrappbrain I just cleared my entire cache history a couple weeks back, so I didn’t think it would be that. Tried it anyways- still no result. My two Chrome versions: * Chromium Version 30.0.1599.114 Ubuntu 13.10 (30.0.1599.114-0ubuntu0.13.10.2) * Google Chrome Version 30.0.1599.114 They’re the same version, although as I say to Anna, one has extensions and the other does not. @Anna Tried it on two different versions of Chrome on my Linux flaptop, both of them didn’t work trying to use the quick note function. I did have adblock and a couple of other extensions on one of the versions, but they were removed on the other one. However when I tried it on my iMac it worked with that. I was also using Chrome there. I’ll try to see if I can record it for you, although there isn’t much to see.

@Danielbauwens - okay, thanks! A screencast would be helpful, even if there’s nothing to see, but I know you’re pretty busy now, so I hope it’s not too much trouble! I’ve put in the bug report so hopefully the engineers can figure out what’s going on. It’s a frustrating one, because it’s only happening to a few people and we haven’t been able to reproduce it. But it must be extra frustrating for you, so I’m sorry about that! Hopefully we can get a fix! Just curious - how’s your internet connection in general? Do you have a pretty high speed connection?

BR found that a browser update helped him – so if anyone else is having that trouble and is out of date, that might help. I know that isn’t great assistance to you right now, though @Danielbauwens , since it looks like you’re up to date! Keep the info coming if you get a screencast, and I’ll update the bug report! Thanks!

@Anna Here is the screencast that I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN33JB3CFiY&feature=youtu.be In the video it shows that when I press “Quick Note” for the first time, it opens up a new RC Patrol page, but when I then click on it again, it adds a # to the end of the URL. And yeah, I updated my whole computer a couple weeks back when I updated my computer, so I don’t think it’s due to an outdated browser. My computer speed is decent, nothing great, but decent internet speed.

Ok, thanks Daniel! That’s all great info to put in the report - I just updated!
