My recent changes patrol keeps getting stuck on the same edit and won’t let me patrol, rollback, or skip. I tried reloading the page but it takes me straight to the same edit and it won’t let me do anything. The “show shortcuts” button doesn’t work either. And some buttons are disappearing and then reappearing. The image shown is the edit that I keep getting stuck on.

Thanks @Kitty0 - our engineers are looking at all that weirdness now. Some funky stuff in RC land today! Thanks for hanging in there:slight_smile:

I think it has something to do with the MediaWiki upgrade, but I’m not quite sure. It has happened to me too, on the same edit.

Hi @Kitty0 Thanks for your note. This is a known bug that the Dev team are working on. It’s also been mentioned on the main upgrade thread (here  forums.wikihow.com/discussion/28385/mediawiki-upgrade-coming-today-thu-aug-1-new-code-now-out/p2 ).

It’s probably best to work on other tools for now :)

For the upgrade, please feel free to post any other bugs you find on the form here:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScze-hPuhIhYOxrQVF__22lAuFlVAJ4xJaAuj9y8cJFFPe-pg/viewform

Thanks!

@Anna and @JayneG , feel free to say something if this shouldn’t be done, but I’ve found that manual patrolling seems to work. It does throw a fatal exception after the edit patrols, but if you just go back to Special:RecentChanges, it disappears from the list and is marked as patrolled in the logs. It might be usable to push out good changes in the meantime, provided that it’s not broken behind-the-scenes and we’re not aware.

Thanks @Galactic-Radiance . I checked in with the Dev team and they mentioned it’s best not to patrol the old edits or edits that shouldn’t be in there. However, it would be ok to focus on just the new edits using Special:RecentChanges.

In general I think the advice to the community will be to work on other things - but if we have a couple of super experienced members who can discern what should and shouldn’t be patrolled (like yourself), I think that would be ok.

You’re welcome, thank you!

Yes, that’s why, I was just making sure the engineers were aware too:slight_smile:

Oops, I didn’t see that! Thanks.

With the ugly RC buggy fixed, I think the actual tool is working smoothly again now, so I’ll close this. Def feel free to use the upgrade bug form to let us know if anything is still going wrong there, though!
