Where do the “Related articles” in the right-hand column come from? Is there any user-accessible way to change them?
I tried adding related articles explicitly to wikihow.com/Guard-Against-Package-Theft
and they appear at the bottom, but the ones in the right panel still are the same two that have nothing to do with the article. (Care for a Camel and something about back pain.)
I suspect that they might have gotten attached by way of the first category assigned, which in this case was something to do with non-standard formatting in the Sources and Citations. I’ve removed that category, too, but the two supposedly-related articles persist.

They’re supposed to pull articles from the same category. The data is cached so that it isn’t recalculated on every page load, in which case it will probably update in 6 to 7 days. Sorry it couldn’t be updated sooner
@Lojjik
, does purging or editing the page purge the cache for this hand column?
Thanks for seeking information about this @Dvortygirl
I used to feel puzzled after seeing unrelated articles too. If not sooner, but sometime it will be done now that you have brought it up.

Unfortunately, no. It’s set to expire at a random time between 6 and 7 days in the future.
Maybe you mean the featured articles? Because the ones I see in the related category are related
You can also change the related articles at the bottom
@Sarah_the_gymnast
nope, there’s a sidecolumn called “Related Articles” (not “Related wikiHows”) that sources four articles from the article’s primary category and displays them.
