I have never posted here, so forgive me if this is not the place. I am AQMM and I do write and edit. However, when I am looking up something for myself, I am frustrated by the number of articles on very similar topics with nearly the same information. Is it possible to make a good collaborative article and skip 14 articles on X Y or Z and make it into one?
Other concerns are the use of slang and “cool” or “amazing” it is the popular way to talk, but it is not appropriate to describe everything with these same words. How about outstanding?
It is often difficult to find articles when the search box directive has so many that are too general or off topic. Is there a way to build in a “refine” search box?
Finally, I have complain about the photos used before. I don’t like the use of cartoon faces for sensitive subjects. Can you share with us where we can get images without copy write problems? Thanks!
I see you have been on wikiHow for quite some time, @AQMM
and I am glad you finally posted in the forums! You have hit on some good points and I am fairly sure the community would like to address each. In part, the sheer scope and complexity of the issues you raise has probably deterred many from responding, and, for that I am sorry.
In the forums, it is best to post only one issue per thread. That way everything stays straight and all the issues can be responded to from multiple viewpoints without confusion. Reference to that thread can then be provided in future discussions.
I am going to suggest that this thread be closed so that you can get the answers you seek. Please start one thread for each issue you deem important.
