I know it’s little importance, but I’ve had an idea for quite some time for the Video Adder tool that would help make it easier to understand and operate.
While I strive for quality (not quantity), sometimes I’d like to get a better idea of just how many articles still need to be voted on for videos yet needing to be added to articles with a certain category. I use the top-level category “Computers and Electronics”, but I know that with every vote, I’m that much closer to running out in that category. But not knowing just where I am in the queue makes this knowledge unnerving and I really don’t know when this warning of “you’re out of articles in this category” will be given. I feel that some ample knowledge of how many left in any given top-level category will give me an idea of when to switch to another top-level category in the tool. We have so many tools that have a countdown number of items left, but little to no knowledge is given as to how many are really left. (Going to the Community Dashboard gives me total number within all, but that doesn’t give me ample enough idea of how many are really in there. I can’t divide that number by the amount of top-level categories due to a variety of factors (since no votes just get subtracted and not replaced nor is each top-level category at the same equal footing at all times.)

Can we get a better system in place in the logs that this tool has a way to track votes in this tool? Right now it stands in the log pages, that only videos added to brand new articles are tracked, but no knowledge is given as to those from months to years back that now have videos thanks to this tool. It’s kind of hard to judge without going into individual User’s contributions page how much this tool is being used. The only type of stuff that even relates to videos in the Log page is called “New article videos” - nothing exists of “Video Adder” except that but this isn’t the same.
3.
Can we also have the ability to remove videos inadvertently added to Video-namespace pages available from either our Contributions page or through the logs? I know we have Quality Guardian, but sometimes the mistake gets made and some people actually do recognize they’ve made that mistake, and while the user can reverse the addition to the article itself, the video-namespace page seems unfixable. What about “nothing on a wiki can ever be irreversible?” when it seems like that is at this time. #Unfair
Been trying to work down the queue in this tool as of more recent times in knowledge of “slow and steady wins the race,” but every time I use it, I’m flustered at this fact.
