Hey, Carolyn. Thanks for requesting this category but Diwali is also a festival like say Easter, Eid or Parsi New year. If there were many aspects, divisions, days, difference in celebration to Diwali then a category was justified.
Or it may go under the broader category Hindu Festivals. What say??? Help me and everyone understand if you have more to share

Yes, but, there are subcategories for the ones you already mentioned (Easter in particular). So, yes, we should go ahead & make the subcategory “Diwali” in “Holidays & Traditions,” & then when there are enough articles on several different Hindu holidays, then we can request a “Hindu Festivals” subcategory for Hinduism.
