Hi wikiHowians!! I noticed that alot of wikiHow requested articles have signs like XD or
in it. The requested articles also include some stuff that are impossible to do. For example, when I was viewing in requested articles related to Pokemon, there were some requests showing some things that aren’t possible to do in the game besides Trading. Though, I don’t want to take away requests that people were really wanting to know. So, I think that maybe Admins can edit the Title of the requested article (even when not created) and then publish it so it looks more right. We fix it if it has a spelling error or a simple text smile. There were also some with titles with not enough detail for it. For example, yet again, when seeing requested articles for Pokemon, there were some requests on how to catch and get Pokemon but not in the right Pokemon game. It was based on Pokemon Ranger. Though, I knew how to do that, I didn’t know what game they meant. So far, there are only three games related to that but it only has Pokemon Ranger. So, I don’t know what game. If some articles in the request option are just to impossible, someone may notice it and report it to an Admin. Then, the rest of the Admins can take a vote whether to keep the requested article. If it needs to be deleted, an E-mail can be sent to the person who requested it saying that it was nominated for deletion and what to do with it. The Person can reply for changing the requested article name, or just simply delete it. I know, this isn’t exactly detailed fully. Your welcome to add more idea’s into this suggestion. - Jenna/Sappires
I too aroused the issue long back but was shut down as I was a mere beginner now also I am.
I have tried but the ones that don’t have pages already are things I don’t have much experience in such as weddings and food making and planning romantic evenings. Also it would be helpful if we could delete requests that already have full pages for such an issue.
Keeping a bot might fix the issue.Don’t know if it can be done .
Ok, sounds good. Anyone have another Suggestion?

Any requests that should be deleted (for violation of the article deletion policy, a task that is impossible to ever do, etc.) can be posted on http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Suggested-Topics-to-Delete
Admins visit that page every once in a while and remove posted requests, so long as they should actually be deleted.
And some requests I’ve seen are pure silliness and craziness. I think most of the requests are either already answered or just crazy. I think a bot that can delete the silly ones and edit the ones that have titles that are not in a how to form or have emoticons would help a bunch. Is that possible?
I realize that some of the requests are silly, but more of them are very serious and they are requested by people who don’t know very much on the article they are requesting but do want to learn and want someone else to write it for them. I think that more people need to answer some requested articles and the people who do request articles are helping the people who don’t know what to wright about.

Just a caution… I once nearly deleted a request titled “How to build an overnight pontoon boat” thinking… what the?!? Who in the world would EVER build one of those? and WHY would they WANT to? When I voiced that opinion in the forums, however, another user strongly disagreed and went on to write a very impressive article on the topic. I’ve learned to assume a hefty amount of good faith on those requests. Many times something I consider frivolous or silly can end up as something we would all be proud of (much to our own astonishment!! http://www.wikihow.com/Construct-an-Overnight-Pontoon-Boat
Thanks for the info everyone! I love the help.
