I was patrolling recent changes when I came across this edit , and I tried to roll it back.

It didn’t work and I got the message saying the edit cannot be rolled back, so I opened the page to roll it back manually (this happens to me quite a bit, not sure why?).

When I tried to manually rollback the edit, it failed, and I got the below screenshot:

Does anyone know why this is? It’s never happened to me before.

Thanks:)

Noticed this problem for said edit as well. I tried undoing it but I received the same response as well.

This is the only time this has happened to me.

8 hours later and I still cannot revert the edit, and the page still displays with the new, spammy edit as the latest version although it has surely been rolled back by someone else by now.

Here’s the link to the article if anyone wanted to have a look and see if anything weird is happening for them: https://www.wikihow.com/Celebrate-Your-Husband%27s-Birthday .

I also tried undoing the edit instead of rolling it back, and got the same message as before.

This can happen when there’s a link in the old edit that was previously accepted, but isn’t acceptable now. I found the culprit and fixed the article. Thanks for reporting!
