This is a good idea, but then you might have to avoid controversy by adding subcategories for Wales and England and Northern Ireland (which might cause confusion as Northern Ireland is technically considered a province, not a country within the UK). Further subcategories might include the Crown Dependecies, the Commonwealth, the British Overseas Territories and the Crown Colonies, which would mean that a majority of articles under the UK may have to be recategorized. Although the latter four aren’t condsidered part of the UK by some people, each country under one of those headings has a parliamentary or royal connection to the United Kingdom in one way or another. Something that would be very confusing would be a Commonwealth subcategory because that would mean recategorizing articles relating to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Jamaica etc., which have a lot of articles relating to them.
