The search results changed, but when I searched the same topic again for a forum thread, it turned into the normal search results. (I can’t use a screenshot because it’s not working right now.)

Hmm, weird! The search results do vary a little depending on where you search from, so that could be the issue, and in general as long as both gave reasonable results for the query, the results changing a bit may not be a big deal, but it’s definitely worth checking out. Can you explain a little bit more about where you were searching from and how they changed?
I was searching from wikiHow search. At the top, it shows a red link that said, “Create the article Impromptu Political Speech” and everything was a bit smaller than usual. They almost looked like the search page that you get when you are logged out of wikiHow.

Ah okay – it sounds like maybe you got the results for http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Search
- Does that look right? That page is a different search tool from what you’ll usually get with the main toolbar search - it’s not as good at predicting what readers really mean when they try a particular search, so it’s sometimes less useful, but if you know exactly what you want or want to search non-article pages on the wiki, it can be really handy. If you searched from the toolbar and still saw this, it was probably a temporary outage of some kind on our usual search function. Feel free to use either one in future - up to you!
