While going through some of our template scripts, I noticed some trouble spots where templates break, and where I’ve been fixing them. However, while the history of these edits are in my list of Contributions https://www.wikihow.com/Special:Contributions/EpcotMagic as something like “Fixing” or “ending” and the name of the tag, there were others where I had to manually fix them.

First off, please don’t forget that if you are going to use a “div” HTML tag to style an award template, please make sure to use a concluding end div HTML tag as well nested with all your other tags after the last piece of information and before the category’s “noinclude” HTML tag on the template page. This caused trouble with items overlapping on several project pages when they were placed.

Second: Span HTML tags no longer work. They are disaster on the information and preview. They used to be mandatory pre-2010 (before my time, because I’ve noticed them in the past just when I began), but now just cause trouble. If you find these, remove them immediately. You can find the instructions for creating new UIBs here , and these no longer require these templates because of the breakage.
