Stuff is getting stuck in WantedPages. There’s a wikiHow article, Remove Press-On Nails, that’s showing up in Special:WantedPages as a broken link - presumably due to the hyphen in the title. I tried to fix it by just applying the hyphens to where the spaces would be, but it’s not working. I’m not sure why, because I’ve been able to fix other broken links before by doing that. On a similar subject, there’s a supposedly broken link that’s green and crossed out - something to do with promoting an eCommerce website. But not only does the article exist, nothing even links to it. Not even a Discussion or Talk page. I’m lost on why a page that isn’t linked to is showing up as broken. This has been stuck there for several days, so I know it wasn’t recreated today. Worthy of a bug report, or am I missing something?

Well the eCommerce one is its own issue, already brought up in another bug - we’re working on that one. It has a hidden character somehow in the title that doesn’t render on the page, so Scott will try to remove it from the back end.

For the nail one, yeah, it might be the hyphen. They can confuse things sometimes! Let’s see how it looks tomorrow after doing this:  http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Apply-Nail-Tips&diff=20895005&oldid=20890191

…? That’s exactly how the nail one looked before I “fixed” it. Why is it working now, when it wasn’t before? @Anna , do you have some sort of magical power you aren’t telling us about?:stuck_out_tongue:Good to hear the eCommerce one is noted - thanks:slight_smile:

Hah, magic! I do know that hyphens and dashes and other symbols can come with their own special brand of weirdness sometimes. If the initial edit here was copied over from a Word document or something, it might be the “wrong” one and have just needed a backspace and retype in the wikitext window. Weird and tricky stuff for sure… Let’s hope this fixes it, and dig further if not!

So the hyphens are still being an issue, just with a different article this time. I’ve tried publishing multiple edits in an attempt to fix the issue, but it’s not working. This  should have the link be directing somewhere, and it’s not.

Can I ask an admin to please try and fix the link? I’m wondering if maybe this is an error that’s somehow linked to user rights, given that Anna’s edit managed to fix a different broken link, when mine didn’t…

That one sure was tricky. I think I hit the nail right on the head.

Awesome, thanks @Byankno1 - that fixed it! I’m kind of stumped on why just inputting the hyphen didn’t do it, though, especially seeing as it seems to work for Anna.
