Do we have a page/article that explains the difference between these two??
I don’t believe so…but I do have something to share regarding this. I’ve tried to add speedy tags to articles, but they have been changed into NFDs. Now, I know why. NFDs allow community input, and should be used in most cases. However, patent nonsense can easily be waved away with a speedy.

Simple rule of thumb
I think this could be applied to NFD/speedy as well. If it doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting through NFD, it’s worthy of speedy.
From the Deletion Policy:_While putting an article through the formal deletion process is the preferred outcome, some newly created articles qualify for a speedy (i.e. immediate) deletion. This should typically be reserved for patent nonsense, personal attacks, profanity, or highly offensive articles. Note that speedy deletes should never be done to an old, established article._The policy also used to talk of egregious cases of standard problems. This covered articles that would have zero chance of becoming working articles regardless of community input. Do feel free to {{speedy}} any time you think there’s a case for it, it’s little work to replace with an NFD if needed, and you’ll not be thought bad of for getting it wrong.
I pretty much concur with the others. If the article cannot reasonably be turned into anything that is no longer deletion-worthy as per our Deletion Policy, then I give it a speedy. Examples of things to speedy: “How to aiiargaionio3nio4tnoart” “How to Mike Massaroli is Better Than You!!!” “How to Jack Herrick SUX” “How to Crap Crap Crap” If you can even remotely fathom this article potentially being saved, speedying it typically won’t be the best choice, in my opinion.
