I noticed a new user called Spell Bot in RC which corrects grammar. Is this a new wiki bot? I think it’s really cool. Also, do its edits need to go through RC patrol? Most bot edits don’t. It’s unlikely there will be a lot of false positives.

Looks like AutoWikiBrowser nonsense.  It does not look good given the editor is new.  I think this tool needs to be restricted and tagged automatically.  @JayneG you can restrict AutoWikiBrowser by setting up a checkpage .  On wikiHow, the checkpage would be located here:  https://wikihow.com/wikiHow:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage Basically, not on the check page = no AWB.  Admins always have access to AWB by design.

Yes, its edits need to be patrolled.  Only wikiHow-approved bots are autopatrolled.

Will leave a personal message for them.

Well, that did not work… @RubyRoseRain can you consider approaching them?

I was wondering as nothing was mentioned in their user page. I am not an expert on how AWB works which is why I assumed it was a wikiBot (wikiHow-approved). I can try reaching out, but I am not very familiar with the ins an outs of it all.

Go ahead.  I do not want them to be blocked, but it may be needed to prevent further disruption should they continue editing too fast.

Wiki approved bots will have “bot” in their user rights.

True. I forgot to check. I have left them a message now.

Great.  Appears to have stopped, so maybe we just wait and see… will prob open a proposal up about restricting use of the tool soon.
