Hi! I started the Storm Weather Project! In the some things on the Community Dashboard
, like RC patrol
, always have a sunny skies or cloudy skies rating. Other things, like approving questions
are always in the stormy weather section. This project is made to lift those things out. I have gotten some people saying things about Quality over Quanity, and I think they are absolutely right. Though it would be great to see everything be in sunny skies, the sacrifice we would make is to great, the Community Dashboard
might be all clear, but wikiHow would never be as great again. For more information visit the Project Homepage!
I hope to see you there! Any questions you have can be left below.
Here’s the link for anyone that needs it.
I appreciate your good intentions behind this project, but I’m just wondering if with this project, people may be encouraged to get the numbers down as quick as possible. It’s always important to remember “Quality over Quantity”
. For example, we have no leader for Q&A because we don’t want it to be a competition as discussed here
.
Thanks for the advice I will put the info in the project! By the way it isn’t really up yet so if you want to join you will have to wait a little bit! I apprecite your kindness!
I forgot to add the link thanks!
Oh wait you have to wait? Sorry
I joined :o
Reducing backlog is great! It helps readers when we can find any way to reduce backlog. However, I think that we need to heavily focus on quality. I know it would be nice to do something fast, but we may end up disrupting wikiHow if we do it too fast. And, if you are in doubt, just skip.
You don’t it just wasn’t up then
I have a note at the top of the disscusion page about that.
Just incse you are wondering, you can join now, I just ment I hadn’t finished the page yet at that time!
Hi! It is time to set our goal for this project! Our monthly goal (the rest of Febuary) will be decided this way. I have had people talk about Quality over Quanity and I agree with that, but some people want a goal. Our goal will be decided by Feb 12 Centeral Time. Here is how this works:
Copy this:
Approve Questions:
Answer Questions:
Clean-up:
Add Videos:
Formatting:
I put the # in I think I can handle per week in each one like:
Approve Questions:250
Answer Questions:15
Clean-up:1
Add Videos:50
Formatting:1
Choose a goal that you think you can accomplish. Remember, we are trying to make quality edits, not 1,000 edits!
Thanks for the help! If you have any questions, please leave a message below!
Let me see. I’m not able to do videos due to the firewall and due to my rarely using VPN except for school. So, sorry about that. I can do more cleanup and formatting if wanted. My goal is the following: Approve Questions: 50 at least Answer Questions: 10 at least (I don’t think I know much about anything) Cleanup: 5 at least (I do a bunch of cleanups) Add Videos: Probably none Formatting: 5 at least Again, sorry for not being able to fulfill the videos. Edit: This is my weekly goal, not by any means the group’s monthly goal!
Posted again for convenice

Guess I should just take things slowly? xD
You forgot the : in the link for the project, @Teensitting-3
. I do agree with what Ruby said about quality over quantity… This is a nice idea for a project overall, but it’s okay to take things slowly!
I appreciate your commet and yes we have a note about it on the project page.
My concern is that while the message is there, it’s not being adhered to. If you’re setting specific numbers, then you encourage quantity over quality and can potentially end up with rush jobs or low-quality edits, or even things that other contributors have to undo.
If you were making a goal for this prject what would it be?
Also, you were the person who said we needed a specific goal
