I wonder if it was possible to remove the copyright violations in the NFD Guardian? I believe sometimes there’s not enough time for people to respond to the messages - the article could be deleted before they can respond in time. See http://www.wikihow.com/Determine-the-Best-Source-of-Green-Energy ( @Krystle and @Anna )

Heya, Good point, @Elyne . Thanks for bringing it up! I checked in with @Krystle on this, and articles don’t go into the NFD Guardian until a week after the NFD was added, which usually gives enough time for reply to a copyvio notification, too. There may be cases when the user wasn’t notified about the copyvio until late in the game, in which case they may show up in the tool – when I see those, I tend to skip them, but I suppose as long as any voting is done based on the diff/history before blanking, the vote could still be valid! ie even if the person responds that it’s theirs, if you vote based on the actual contents (and it’s, say, not a how-to, or it’s a dup title), then it’s probably a-okay to vote on those anyway, on that basis (the tool does say to check the history, too, so hopefully no admins or boosters are voting based on a blank page!). I don’t see it happen a whole lot - probably because the copyviobot usually catches them before they’re nfd’ed (and/or because they don’t go into the NFD Guardian for a week). Honestly, I think the people who are genuinely looking to share their copyrighted content tend to respond pretty quickly! And if not, the article can always be restored after they do respond. @Elyne or others: Has anyone seen any issues come out of this? Any articles that got deleted that shouldn’t have been because of this?

@Anna I haven’t seen any issues yet but I just wanted to be sure and ask. I usually skip them too if I see them the NFD Guardian.

Cool, thanks very much @Elyne - definitely a great issue to bring up! If anyone sees articles getting removed by accident because of this, then please post here so we can keep track of how big a problem it is. Thank you!
