Okay, I have returned with another one of THESE forums. I am now concerned about the recent “outbreak” of spam and pointless forums. These forums are getting out of hand. I went to general chat earlier and found a bunch of forums that were simply gibberish. Then there are a lot of forums that are advertising things that are in no way related to wikiHow. Along with this, I even saw one for someone trying to promote a scam, understandably they were taken down, but this I believe is concerning. I am not sure if this is allowed or not, but if an admin could reply to this to clear things up, it would be great.

. While we don’t have established “policies” dictating what sort of posts are allowed in the forums, the Admin team does keep an eye on all the different sections in the forums to ensure that people are following generally accepted best practices and not being disruptive, spamming, etc. Admittedly, the General Chat and Forum Games are probably two of the lesser watched sections, just because of the sheer number of posts/replies in these sections, and the fact that these sections are fairly open for random off-topic chat or games.
If there’s a particular forum post or reply that you are ever concerned about, and you think needs Admin attention, feel free to drop a note on the Admin Notice Board
in the Miscellaneous section and someone will take a look ASAP. :)
