I guess this idea came about from my own crippling curiosity - a talk on traveling, one of the many things I want to do once I turn 18. I’ve seen vlogs of people going to many tourist sites in different countries and cities. I think a place I’d want to travel to the most is Germany. I’m trying my best to learn the language. “Ich versuche mein bestes zu lernen :/”

I think the thing about traveling (for me) is not the destination. I think it’s the journey, the people I am with who would stretch it out and travel with me, and the fun we’d have on the road together. Basically, the memories.

Or maybe I’m in my own imagination.

What places would you travel to if you had the chance to do so? Have you already gone somewhere amazing?

I lived in Germany for 2 years. I enjoyed lots of things about it but will confess to not seeing lots of it and pretty much sticking in the wee corner we lived in, near Monchengladbach. At weekends we would go to the Netherlands, Luxembourg or Belgium. It was awesome just being able to get in the car are go to a whole other country, but, we maybe should of spent more time site seeing in Germany itself. @Faith Allyse - I am sure you have done heaps of research and will plan well. Lots of people in Germany speak excellent English but they will appreciate you making an effort in German. One tiny peice of advice if I may, do not rely on credit cards - lots of places don’t take them non-German cards. It’s not as easy to find ATMs either. I have been to Ascension Island which is amazing and I moved from England to New Zealand which is also amazing. Ascension was amazing for a holiday, NZ is amazing to live.

I want to go to Vienna and Salzburg in Austria. It would be the adventure of a lifetime for me.

Paris.  Definitely. They have over 4000 patisseries… mmmmm…  And over 5000 restaurants…

(a patesserie is a bake shop)

Where would I travel to?  Mars.

That would be really cool!

Yep!  I don’t really think we should create a colony there, though.  It would take a lot of risky work that is not guaranteed to pay off.  Instead, I think we should build a space station or a few and send researchers there.  Of course, Mars should be a place of some type of tourism.

I really hope SpaceX will work out.  I’m sure it will.

Save the colony building for more hospitable worlds.  Mars should be a stepping stone to other worlds like the moon of Europa.

That would be even cooler! YKW? There was the stone age, the bronze age, and the iron age, this is the Space age!!! B!33P B100P

I know, right?!

If humanity has a goal, we should try to stay alive as long as possible, traveling through space until the universe ends.  Curiosity and travel is human nature, so we must live up to it!

Well, we gotta get back into topic.  Any travel plans that are planetary?

Hmmmm… An unknown planet in the asteroid belt as a quiet vacation spot. XD

LOL.  Asteroids are actually pretty far apart in the asteroid belt, so don’t expect any impacts (that is, if you have an atmosphere, XD).

There actually is a planet in the asteroid belt.  Well, NASA doesn’t really identify it as a planet.  It’s almost big enough to have enough gravity to smooth itself into a spherical shape.  Too bad there just wasn’t enough.

We should totally create mining bases on asteroids!  They have many rich minerals that we could use, not to mention deuterium for fusion power plants…

Platinum? THEN I"LL BE RICH!!! XD

It would be actually QUIET. No air to conduct sound!

I think you and I are shoving too much space information into this chat, LOL.

Let’s get back to something more planetary in our world.  I’d go to the Arctic.  Twice.  Why?  Because on my first visit, there will be ice, but on my second, there will be rock and more melted ice.

DEFENETLY NOT Australia, to many snakes and spiders, ITALY!!! MAMMA MIA!!! LEONARDO HASA COMA LIVA AGANA!!!

XD.  Almost no way I’m going to Australia!  If I do, I’ll be stuck in the cities.

NO Australia

I’d like to go to Hong Kong. Food and culture!

Hong Kong is amazing. I’ve read blog topics on it and it sounds like a place I would travel to.

Oh yeah.  I’ve heard of many stories on it.

Hey, you know what interesting? The academic freedom in Hong Kong’s universities is at risk, though. It’s not ideal in that way.
