Moved to General Chat. Coz we don’t need a hundred threads in Village Pump, or debates on other threads. RULES: 1. Although it can be hard, please abstain from profanity. 2. No extremely sexual topics. 3. No debates about things universally or even almost universally illegal. (Marijuana, other drugs.) 4. This thread is for mostly everyone’s debates. What do you think the Weather will be Like? Who’s Better, Mario or Luigi? etc. If you see a debate, don’t tell them “That’s not the kind of debate we need!” Or something like that. 5. If you see an inappropriate debate (inconsistent with guidelines, report it, and an admin will take care of it. 6. No hateful comments or insults. 7. Abide by the rules. EXTRA-Read the rules carefully and do not find loopholes.

Just to warn you I am very good at debating!!! well you could say that but then where are we going to get the proteins that we need from?
@Bob13
Nuts and cheese would work. Or one of those protein shakes that tastes like cough syrup.
Veganism only makes sense if you have a lot of money. Otherwise, it’s extremely expensive to get the nourishment you need. Humans are made to eat meat, and the negative health effects associated with it are only because of the processing of some store-bought meats. This can be averted by purchasing from local farmers.
How? It always irks me when people bring up that kind of thing. It isn’t helping animals to be vegan. Do you think that all animals in farms are mistreated? That only happens in factory farms. I used to live on a farm, and I ate some of my livestock. I treated them very well, and they were always happy. Again, if you purchase from local farmers, you avert that whole thing. The “knowing where your food is from” thing is a logical fallacy. It doesn’t just apply to vegetables. It applies to meat as well. You can know where your meat is from just as well as you can think you know where your vegetables are from. Also:To truly be a vegan, you must live out in the wilderness with no modern products. And to do that
, you need to eat wild animals to stay alive. Therefore, veganism is impossible. Also, do you get immunizations? Hate to break it you, but most of them start off in egg cultures.
I understand not wanting to hurt animals, but plants have feelings too. They can tell that people are picking them. So, vegans aren’t really helping either.
Meat can be healthy. Just don’t eat fatty fast food pink slime and it will be okay. I do agree that animals shouldn’t be treated cruelly, but that doesn’t mean that meat is cruelty. For some people, yes, it is healthier. Some people don’t process proteins as well, so veganism is healthier for them. But it isn’t a be-all, end-all thing. Nothing is. You have to apply some amount of judgement to your decisions before you start acting like everyone should be like you. How does veganism help the environment?
Um… don’t plants breathe carbon dioxide? Imagine if all the trees decided to reduce their oxygen emissions because it’s not healthy for animals. I do agree that animals should not be treated cruelly like that. I buy my eggs and such from local farmers, and in the spring I’m going to get my own chickens and goats for meat and eggs. I also find veal to be disgusting. When I breed my goats for milk, I’ll let them nurse and have their kids. That’s what we’d always do on the farm, too. The only thing I drank throughout my childhood was milk. I fell from trees multiple times, crashed into a pile of lumber going downhill at full speed on a bike, crashed face-first into a curb, and did many other things that would have broken most kid’s bones (them being on 2% milk and Coke), and I never had a single broken bone. The worst I ever had was a concussion that quickly recovered. If the stuff in milk did what you say it does, I would have broken my legs, ribs, arms, and nose multiple times by now. Those studies about milk not helping with bones are bull. They probably conducted the studies with elders who were getting osteoporosis anyways. (also, it’s “dairy”, not “diary”)

If you live on nothing but fruits veggies, that’s really not healthy. You may like it at first, but to be honest, there are important sources of food that veggies don’t have. You need meat, you need protein! Veggies and fruits don’t have everything that the basic human being needs in food and health standards.

+1 Actually, if you live
on anything, it’s unhealthy.
Could I be the audience of the debate? Then at the end I’ll tell what side I choose… If you don’t want me to that’s fine!

Perhaps, I may be wrong, and maybe you are wrong as well. However, vegans can’t eat meat, and meat holds some of the basic things that every human being needs regarding health and food standards.

I dont think this is a bad idea if everyone agrees to consider your choice to be the final decision, and doesn’t argue it.

Still: meat s still important. It’s almost vital.
I agree that meat is vital… At least to MY body!
I don’t know how I would survive without eating chicken, veal, pork, bacon and ham… I think if I had a goat, chicken, or pig as a pet (on a farm), then I would have more emotions for eating that type of meat (even though they aren’t my pets). I have a rabbit and my family doesn’t eat rabbit meat, but I refuse to eat any in the future (unless absolutely necessary).
How exactly can you tell if the fur is actually faux or not? Just by the feel?

Some people have health requirements and religious beliefs that means they cannot be vegan, perhaps. Besides, FRUITS, VEGGIES, AND GRAINS DO NOT HOLD EVERY SINGLE NUTRIENT NECESSARY.

Alright, but be warned. It is impossible to cover every single dietary need with just fruits, veggies, and grains. I’m sorry to say.
