I’ve been seeing a lot of articles that are having drawings put in them on every single step that add no value to the page. They just take up space, generally don’t show you how to do anything, and make the page load slowly. (For example, “Be a Scene Kid”, “Stay Up All Night Alone (For Kids)”, and many others.) I quote the image policy for my concern: “When adding images to wikiHow, look for high quality, instructional images to help our readers. When adding an image, put yourself in the shoes of a reader trying to learn the task. Would seeing this image help you learn the task?” In this case, the answer is a resounding “NO”, because if I were a first time reader, upon seeing those drawings, I would go back and look for another website to get the information. The drawings often are worse than no images at all, because I have to scroll more because they aren’t loading. They load extremely slowly even though I am using a high-end Mac with an otherwise wonderful internet connection.

This really isn’t a problem as of now. If you see an image which adds no value whatsoever to an article, remove it. Of the image was added by wikiphoto, leave a message on the wikiphoto talkpage and the team will sort it out. We do need to be careful while removing images though, because even if an image adds some value, it should be kept. “An image is worth a thousand words”. While that depends on the quality of the picture, it dies tell us to be careful while removing images. If you see an article with poor images, edit out those pics. Wikiphoto isn’t perfect, and goofs up sometime. If the images are added by an editor, remove it and send them a coaching message(optional), explaining why you removed it. I can understand your concern. Just today I came across an article with unrelated images, added by wikiphoto. I also came across an article with some example pictures, added by an anon. While this can be annoying, removing it is quick and easy

This isn’t much of a problem. As Abhishek explained above, you can just remove the images and possibly give some feedback to Wikiphoto or the editor that added the images
