Hi all, I am starting up the Wikihow Mentor Scheme again and I am going to make it good and popular. I am looking for volunteer mentors. They will have to have the following requirements: At least 400 edits Pass a test Daily activity and to be online for a good amount of time to talk to them Good communication skills Please post here or on my talk page to apply, I look forward to this

Count me in. I already grab newbies that I see making good edits in RC Patrol, but I don’t mind being available to others as well… and I"m on the site at least twice a day… often more. LOL and I “think” I have enough edits… but the test sounds worrisome… (giggling)
I’m not always on .only when I have time. But that is a greay idea!
Thanks all
Thanks Lois as well for helping out. I will message you on WikiHow now
Hey, I’ll join!
I meet all the requirements and it sounds like loads of fun!

I would lovefor it to be more active. I couldn’t come up with a way to find ‘mentees’ though, since I very rarely patrol. I think that it is a good idea (even if it was kinda my idea), and hopes that we can get some use out of it.
Good to hear your kind comments
Thanks
Still open
please reply to this or ask on my talk page.
A site notice might help.

I’d really like to join, but I can’t be online for very long. Is there any way I could help without being ‘official’?

I would be honoured to join but I do not fullfill the edit requirements, oh well plenty more to do!
Hi thanks for replying. The requirements are there because if you are mentoring someone, you will need to talk to them daily and teach them about WIkiHow. If the person has a mentor thats not online much, they will be waiting for ages for a reply. Thats the main reason. I also set a test so that I know how well people will do as a mentor. Isablella, I am sure I can find something for you to do, message me on my talk apge and I will get back to you. SnowCheetah, you have a bit of editing to do as you say, this is simply there so that I know the mentor is active and knows themself how WikiHow works
Thanks very much for your interest!

I guess I could do this. Might be kind of fun actually. Keep me posted Peter!
Would love to join in! Post the details. Thanks
These are the requirements: You need two months experience and 300 edits. Be available daily or a fair amount of the time. Be professional and reliable. Be confident in your skills and knowledge of wikiHow. Be resourceful and able to access information. Be able to express yourself clearly. Be honest, kind and empathetic Pass a test.
The edit count has been lowered to 300 edits but you need at least 2 months experience
Count me in I’m on basically everyday. I have 696 contributions, I can be on for usually around 3-4 hours if not more.

Oh, and BTW, you might want to add, ‘No swearing, cussing, et cetera’ to the rules.
