Hey guys, please avoid bumping old threads. Thanks.

Why shouldn’t they? If they’re interested, why not? After all, this ain’t a village pump discussion.

Ops.my bad,sorry!

I agree with you that we could use some more solid rules in regard to bumping, however in this case bumping is not good. A ‘Katy Perry’ thread being bumped isn’t helpful the same way a ‘how to fix a truck’ thread being bumped isn’t good. I’m going to try and find some more solid rules on this of I can, but for now I would just stick to bumping actual games from forum games.

Ok.

Threads in all categories are expected to not be bumped, unless it’s very important. In this case, I don’t see such thing. This thread probably died because people were not interested in this, and reviving it is just a futile attempt to make it popular. And, if all started bumping threads for their ‘interest’, we would have to face so many bumped threads and miss out the important ones.

Miss out the important ones? Really? What exactly is ‘important’ in the general chat category? Nothing that important. I totally agree that threads in village pump, collab corner, new cat suggestions, and help shouldn’t be bumped, but general chat and forum games? There’s really nothing important there. Why do people bump? Cuz they want to post something. Why do they want to post something? Because they’re interested. If no one else is interested, the thread will die out on its own as no one else will post on it. Unless it’s a spam post, of course, then different rules apply. Yeah, reviving it might not make it popular, but there’s no harm in a small bump. Nothing important will be missed, and everyone gets to talk about it. If people are really interested, they 'll start a new thread for the same thing and no one will protest. Why? Why is creating a new thread for the same thing so different? The no bumping rule must have a reason, and the reason doesn’t really apply in the bottom two categories. Just musing.

I see this thread has been sunk.
