I’ve been using wikihow for over a month, and I still don’t know half the things it provides. For example: what is “Village Pump”, how do you send fanmail, how do you block wikihowians… These are just a few question I have on this website although I’ve already been on for quite a while.

Yes wikiHow can be a little difficult to pick up quickly, however the more you use the various functions on the Community Dashboard and practice the easier it gets. wikiHow also has an article page on everything you need to know so all you have to do is put key words into the Search bar and see what pops up. The articles also have links to other pages related to the topic you searched for. Some of the important stuff like the Deletion Policy I have printed so it is handy to read, but you can save the url of pages you use often.
You can leave a message wikihow.com/wikiHow_talk:Help-Team
asking for help and someone will get back to you or simply ask another wikiHow user.

Or you may post here itself.
Thanks.
As Sarah said, there’s a lot of things in wikiHow and it just takes a while to get used to everything. There’s a lot of articles in the wikiHow category
that might be able to help you out with things.
But for starters:
The Village Pump is a forum category. It’s basically for people to post announcements and public things similar to that.
To send fan mail, check out http://www.wikihow.com/Write-Fan-Mail-on-wikiHow
Only admins can block users on wikiHow, but if you see someone whose behavior needs attention, leave a note on the Administrator Notice Board
.
Hmm, from what I could see from wikiHow, there are a few minor details that I could give, although this would probably confuse some bit. It helps when doing article fixing
Do this: ==Method1== to make a new method.
Do this: =Big Letters= to make an extra big font.
Do this: ‘‘italics’’ to make italics. (two apostrophes – make sure that you don’t use quotes, because then you will get regular quotes)
Do this: ‘’‘bold’’’ to make bold. (three apostrophes)
You could put templates, like this. For example, if you wanted an inuse template, you would put {{inuse}}. UIBs (User Info Boxes) work the same. For example, if you wanted an “I Like Orange” template, you would put {{User Orange}}.
I hope this helps

You can also give them tips on how to write a good article using the links http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-New-Article-on-wikiHow
and http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Writer’s-Guide
. To add to Blackcat’s post above, a useful link to share with new users can be http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Editing-Basics
. You can share some of these tips and links with newcomers both in talk pages and in the forums.
Thanks. This helped me too
