I found something odd and I venture here a guess as to why it is occurring. The following names would be common file names, used by the cameras of many people. If you review the histories of these images, you will see that the images in these files are all getting replaced over long periods of time, by different users, and this results in a situation where the replacement images are odd illustrations for some of the articles to which they are attached. I wonder if our image uploader is replacing previously uploaded images, which happen to have the exact same file name as a new image being uploaded. http://www.wikihow.com/Image:-34.jpg http://www.wikihow.com/Image:-44.jpg http://www.wikihow.com/Image:-53.jpg http://www.wikihow.com/Image:-47.jpg Here is an article which shows an inappropriate image…the image appears to have been uploaded once and then the same editor changed the image just a few minutes later. I can’t even figure out how to access the original image, to check if the first image was one which fit the article better. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Wood-Flexible

Thanks. I’ve filed a bug report on it.

Thanks, Chris.

I believe this bug was fixed in Nov/Dec. It had to do with importing images that had no titles from flickr.

This image seems to exhibiting the same behavior in January: http://www.wikihow.com/Image:-53.jpg

Engineers: Bug 305

Ok, this should finally be fixed! Thanks Scott! Please let me know if you see this happening again.
