I think it might be a parody, but I really don’t understand. Strangely, it mimics our site design almost exactly.

Oh, you mean wikiHow Fun? All “fun” type articles get redirected to that site.
Penguin nailed it. We have certain subdomains for various categories (like tech, parenting, pets, etc.) that are being tested out. They contain articles from those specific categories rather than the entirety of the site. I don’t think all articles are located on the respective subdomains at this point in time, though, and editing is disabled on them (you have to edit the article through the main wikihow.com
site).
