how come some people have fears before they have even experienced them?
I guess it could be physiological, such as fearing the dark(You can’t see well). But don’t you have to be exposed to something for you to fear it?

Most of the time it is due to past trauma, I don’t like taking pills because I once choked on them when I was 7-8 years old. I don’t like going outside when it is dark or nighttime cuz of past trauma too… plus a lot of criminals roam around here at night… so I stay home nice and safe
But it is also natural… many people are afraid of spiders or snakes as they fear they might be poisonous and hurt them. It’s in our instincts to be afraid of something dangerous, I don’t like touching big knives for this reason (plus past trauma).
Children are often afraid of things like the dark becuz they don’t understand or they just don’t like the idea of not being able to see very well or perhaps their friends or parents have told them about the bogyman or something like that and they are scared for that reason.
Fear. A part of evolution. We fear the dark because our ancestors knew that going out from the campfire meant being mauled by a tiger. We fear insects because our ancestors knew that an insect bite meant disease. We fear monsters because they look just like predators; it’s what they are, of course, and we are the prey.
But what about things that do not seem like they’re supposed to be feared? A little video for it below, but it’s scary, trust me. Watch at your own risk; even the thumbnail is creepy enough to some.
Maybe the parents had fears like these and when they had kids, the same genetic gene passed on to them. That’s my guess…
