Why do some topics that people have created suddenly “die?” (I’m not referring to ones that were nominated for deletion; I am referring to ones that were kept.)

Hi @Carolyn_Barratt
- sometimes we just don’t have wikiHowians with experience or expertise in particular topics to help get new articles to a point where they can be published, so they may stay in the Topic Greenhouse or other tools for some time before someone comes along.
Hi @JayneG
, you do not understand: My topics that I am referring to, WEREpublished & on the forums. But, now they appear to be “dead.”

@Carolyn_Barratt
, can you clarify what you mean when you say the articles were published and on the forums?
Since articles are not published in the forums, I don’t quite understand what you’re asking.
Are you referring to articles you published on wikiHow? If so, can you provide an example of an article that is now “dead”?
Or, are you referring to posts made on the forums?
No, I do not mean that they were published here
, on the forums. They were put into actual categories. But, now on my user page, these articles now appear to be blackened out

@Carolyn_Barratt
, is this an example of what you are referring to?
If so, this happens when the article is moved to another domain. In the case of the example in the screenshot, it actually resides on wikiHow.life — you can see it here: How to Make Caramel Syrup (with Pictures) - wikiHow Life
That’s all it means when the wiki link isn’t green and clickable.
It would be nice if they remained green and clickable when on other domains, but it’s not possible at this time. Instead, you can link to it the same way you would add an external link ([ https://www.example.com
Example link])

Did my explanation above make sense?
So, how do I access WikiHow.Life, here on WikiHow?

You can still access it while signed in on the .com domain: How to Make Caramel Syrup (with Pictures) - wikiHow Life
Any edits you make there will carry over to the .life

Cool. How about the other articles?

You can access any article you’ve written on the .com domain and it’ll carry over any changes to any other domain.
The way I usually do this (just my own preference) is to take the article title (e.g. Make Caramel Syrup) and place it into the URL after wikiHow.com/
— so wikiHow .com/Make Caramel Syrup and it’ll bring you right to the article.
